Waterproofing and Interior Drain Installation in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, QC
Challenge
Our client, Mr. Denis, noticed signs of water infiltration and a musty odor in his basement. He wants to be able to use this space without these inconveniences and enjoy optimal comfort.
Resolution
Our experts at Sous-Sol Confort conducted a free evaluation and recommend the installation of a waterproofing system, including the interior drain FlowDrain, the 20 mil Pro Vapor Barrier membrane, the SumPlus sump pump system, and accessories for the SafeGard discharge line. To start the installation of the drainage system, a trench is dug around the internal perimeter of the basement, at the joint between the wall and the floor, to position the FlowDrain drains on a gravel bed. Then, the floor is covered with concrete. Once the drains are installed, allowing for the collection of infiltrated water and directing it to the SumPlus sump pump system, a perforated receptacle is installed two feet deep in the ground. Finally, a hermetic cover with a floor drain is put in place. The sump pump system then evacuates the water outside the house through a successfully installed independent SafeGard discharge line. Additionally, a Vapor Barrier membrane has been installed along the foundation wall for moisture protection.
With this comprehensive solution, Mr. Denis will be able to enjoy a dry and comfortable basement.
