Challenge

Mr. Kaloyan noticed signs of water infiltration and a musty odor in his basement. He wants to be able to use this space without these inconveniences and enjoy optimal comfort.

Resolution

Our experts at Sous-Sol Confort conducted a free assessment and recommended installing a complete waterproofing system including:

• The FlowDrain interior drain
• The SumPlus sump pump system
• The SafeGard discharge line accessories

To begin the drainage system installation, a trench was dug around the internal perimeter of the basement, at the joint between the wall and the floor, to position the FlowDrain interior drains on a bed of gravel. Then, the floor was covered with concrete to ensure a clean and durable finish.

Once the drains were installed, allowing for the collection of infiltrated water and directing it to the SumPlus sump pump system, a perforated receptacle was placed at a depth of two feet in the ground. Finally, a hermetic cover with a floor drain was put in place to prevent moisture evaporation.

The SumPlus sump pump system then evacuates the water outside the house via an independent SafeGard discharge line, thus ensuring effective protection against infiltrations.
