Solving Basement Water Infiltration Problem with Sump Pump System in Pointe-Claire, QC
Challenge
Mr. Lucas recently noticed significant issues with his sump pump system: it was excessively noisy and unreliable, frequently stopping. These difficulties raised concerns about the pump's performance and reliability, especially during heavy rains or in spring. He was actively seeking a solution to prevent any risk of water infiltration or even flooding in his basement.
Resolution
Our client contacted Sous-Sol Confort to explore different options for sump pump systems. To address Mr. Lucas's issues, our specialists opted to replace his sump pump with our Double Protection sump pump system. This system includes a powerful ⅓ HP cast iron Zoeller sump pump, capable of pumping up to 8,500 liters of water per hour out of the basement, even at a height of 8 feet. Additionally, it's possible to add an Aquanot Spin 508 battery backup sump pump, capable of evacuating more than 43,000 liters of water on a single battery charge.
For the installation of the SumPlus sump pump system, we integrated a basin in the floor, a battery-powered alarm that sounds automatically when the water level exceeds the threshold at which the pump should normally activate, and finally, a hermetic cover. The sump pump system then evacuates the water outside the house through an independent SafeGard discharge line that was successfully installed. Thanks to this solution, the sump pump system continues to operate even during power outages, thus eliminating any risk of water infiltration.
