Repairing an Internal Crack in the Foundation in Laval-des-Rapides, QC
Challenge
Our client, Mr. Elias, residing in Laval-des-Rapides, was facing a crack in the foundation that allowed water to seep in during snowmelt and rainfall. This persistent issue had not been resolved despite multiple unsuccessful attempts with ineffective products.
Resolution
To address this situation, Sous-Sol Confort proposed a long-lasting solution using a polyurethane-based product injected directly into the crack under high pressure.
Here are the steps of our intervention:
- High-pressure injection:
- We inject a liquid polyurethane resin into the crack, allowing it to fully fill the space and create a waterproof and airtight barrier.
- Preparation of entry points:
- Entry points are drilled on both sides of the crack along its entire length to ensure precise and uniform sealing.
- Finishing touch:
- Once the crack is sealed, we apply a polyurethane-based coating to achieve a light gray finish, blending seamlessly with the surrounding concrete.
This process guarantees long-term and highly effective protection against water infiltration, permanently eliminating the issue.
