Humidity and Reinforcement Issues Identified in the Crawl Space of Terrebonne, QC
Challenge
Mr. Dansereau is facing various issues in his crawl space, including excessive humidity and poor insulation. The client is looking for a solution to address the humidity problem, achieve energy savings, and reinforce the flooring for the long term.
Resolution
After a free inspection, our specialists recommend installing a SuperJack support system to stabilize and level the floor joists and main beams. We then propose a crawl space encapsulation system, including the installation of the Delta MS drainage membrane, followed by the Pro-20 Vapor Barrier membrane. This polyethylene membrane, covered with a thick 20mm plastic coating, allows for proper drainage of infiltrated water while effectively insulating the crawl space from the house. With this complete solution, Mr. Dansereau will benefit from a dry and well-insulated crawl space, resolving humidity issues and leading to energy savings. We also plan to install a SumpPlus sump pump system, accompanied by an airtight cover to prevent moisture and water evaporation. This system will discharge water outside the house through a successfully installed independent SafeGard discharge line. Finally, the SuperJack support system will ensure the long-term stability of the joists and main beams.
We are committed to providing quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
