Humidity and Reinforcement Issues Identified in the Crawl Space in Montreal, QC
Challenge
Mr. Jéremie was facing several issues in his crawl space, including excessive humidity and failing insulation. He was looking for an effective solution to eliminate humidity, improve his home's energy efficiency, and reinforce the floor structure for the long term.
Resolution
After a free inspection, our specialists recommended installing a SuperJack support system to stabilize and level the floor joists and main beams.
Next, we proceeded with the crawl space encapsulation by installing a Delta MS drainage membrane, followed by the Pro-20 millimeter Vapor Barrier membrane. The latter, made of polyethylene with a 20 mm thick plastic coating, allows for draining infiltrated water and ensuring optimal insulation of the crawl space.
To ensure a healthy and dry environment, we also installed a SumPlus sump pump system, equipped with a hermetic cover to prevent moisture evaporation. The accumulated water is evacuated to the exterior via an independent SafeGard discharge line, thus offering lasting protection against water infiltration.
Thanks to this comprehensive solution, Mr. Jéremie now benefits from a perfectly insulated crawl space protected against humidity, while achieving energy savings. The SuperJack support system also ensures the long-term stability of the joists and main beams.
We are committed to providing quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
