Crawl Space Encapsulation and Stabilization in Mont-Royal, QC
Challenge
Mr. Jimmy, owner of a residence in Mont-Royal, was facing humidity problems in his crawl space, threatening the integrity of the structure and promoting mold development. In addition to bad odors and cold felt throughout the house, a bedroom door would no longer close properly due to floor movement. Rapid intervention was therefore necessary to stabilize the beams and improve the insulation of the house.
Resolution
After a thorough inspection, our specialist recommended replacing the wooden beam with a metal beam, reinforced by 8 SuperJack posts. These galvanized and adjustable posts ensure long-lasting stabilization of the joists and floor.
We also installed a collection basin with a Zoeller M53 pump to efficiently evacuate water and prevent any accumulation of moisture.
To combat humidity and improve comfort, we installed Delta MS and PRO 20 mil Vapor Barrier membranes, blocking rising moisture and providing effective protection against water infiltration.
Thanks to this intervention, Mr. Jimmy now benefits from a healthy crawl space, without humidity or structural instability, ensuring optimal comfort throughout his home.
