Basement Waterproofing in Montreal, QC
Challenge
A client from the Montreal, Quebec area contacted us due to a basement water problem. Cracks were present, causing water infiltrations and high humidity levels. Our specialist assessed the entire basement from both the inside and outside in collaboration with the client, thus identifying the issues to be resolved. Following this evaluation, he recommended a comprehensive, effective, and durable waterproofing and sealing system that addressed our client's concerns about her basement.
Resolution
The recommended waterproofing system was implemented following the steps below. First, our team sealed the wall cracks using polyurethane injection. This product blocks water and redirects it to an interior drain while remaining flexible to adapt to future wall movements. Thus, the cracks will never reopen. Next, our team dug a trench all around the perimeter of the walls to install the Flow Drain interior drain, which intercepts water from the ground and walls. To evacuate water from the drain, we installed a SumPlus sump pump system. This system removes water from the house and maintains drainage even in case of a power outage thanks to the pump's backup power supply. Therefore, there is no risk of basement flooding during storms causing power outages because the backup pump will automatically start, and an alarm will notify you of its operation. Finally, we installed SafeGard accessories on the discharge line. SafeGard is a discharge outlet that seamlessly integrates into the garden landscape and prevents pipe obstruction by mud at its end. We are pleased to have brought peace of mind to our Montreal client by installing this comprehensive waterproofing system.
