Challenge
Our client, Mr. Ghafor, noticed signs of water infiltration and a musty odor in his basement. His goal was to use this space without these inconveniences and enjoy optimal comfort.
Resolution
Our specialists at Sous-Sol Confort conducted a free evaluation and recommended installing an interior drain system combined with a SumPlus sump pump. This system effectively drains infiltrated water and channels it outside the house, ensuring a dry and comfortable basement.
To implement this drainage system, the following steps were taken:
- A trench was dug around the interior perimeter of the basement, at the joint between the wall and the floor, to install the interior drain on a bed of gravel. Once the drain was placed, the trench was covered with concrete, ensuring a clean and durable finish.
- The drains collect infiltrated water and direct it to the SumPlus sump pump system.
- A perforated receptacle was installed two feet deep into the ground.
- A support was added to elevate the powerful pump, optimizing its performance.
- A battery-powered alarm was integrated, triggering a sound signal if the water level exceeds the activation point of the pump.
- A hermetic lid with a floor drain was also installed to prevent any leaks or moisture buildup.
- Finally, the sump pump system expels the water outside the house through an independent SafeGard discharge line, carefully installed to ensure safe and reliable drainage.
