Basement Water Infiltration Solution in Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, QC
Challenge
Our client, Mr. Nicolas Leblanc, noticed signs of water infiltration and a musty odor in his basement. He wants to be able to use this space without these issues and enjoy optimal comfort.
Resolution
Our experts at Sous-Sol Confort conducted a free evaluation and recommend the installation of a FlowDrain drainage system along with a SumPlus sump pump system to evacuate and drain the infiltrated water outside the house, providing a dry and comfortable basement.
To begin the drainage system installation, a trench is dug around the internal perimeter of the basement, at the joint between the wall and the floor, to install the FlowDrain drains on a gravel bed. Then, the floor is covered with concrete.
Once the drains are installed, which collect the infiltrated water and direct it towards the SumPlus sump pump system, a perforated basin is installed two feet deep in the ground, along with a support to elevate the powerful pump, a battery-operated alarm that sounds automatically when the water exceeds the level at which the pump should normally start, and finally, a watertight cover with a floor drain.
The sump pump system then evacuates the water outside the house through a separate SafeGard discharge line that has been successfully installed.
