Basement Water Infiltration Problem in L'Île Bizard, QC
Challenge
Mr. Andrew Martin is dealing with water infiltrations and a musty odor in his basement, making the space uncomfortable and unusable. His wish is to solve this problem to have a dry and comfortable basement.
Resolution
After a free assessment, our experts at Sous-Sol Confort recommended the installation of a drainage system called FlowDrain and a sump pump called SumPlus to eliminate the infiltrated water and direct it away from the house, ensuring a dry and comfortable basement. The first step in the installation of the drainage system involves creating a trench along the inner perimeter of the basement, at the joint between the wall and the floor. FlowDrain drains are then installed on a gravel bed, and the floor is covered with concrete. Once the drains are in place, they collect the infiltrated water and convey it to the SumPlus sump pump system. A perforated receptacle is also buried two feet deep in the ground. The sump pump system then pumps the water outside the house through an independent SafeGard discharge line, ensuring efficient and secure removal of infiltrated water.
Thanks to this comprehensive solution, Mr. Andrew Martin will be able to enjoy a dry and comfortable basement, eliminating the issues of water infiltration and musty odor he previously faced.
