Basement Water Infiltration Issue and Interior Drain Installation in Laval, QC
Challenge
Our client, Mr. Rajan, noticed signs of water infiltration and a musty odor in his basement. He wants to be able to use this space without these inconveniences and enjoy optimal comfort.
Resolution
Our specialists at Sous-Sol Confort conducted a free evaluation and recommend the installation of a waterproofing system, including the interior drain FlowDrain, the SumPlus sump pump system, and accessories for the SafeGard discharge line. To start the installation of the drainage system, a trench is dug around the internal perimeter of the basement, at the joint between the wall and the floor, to install FlowDrain drains on a gravel bed. Then, the floor is covered with concrete. Once the drains are installed, collecting the infiltrated water and directing it to the SumPlus sump pump system, a perforated receptacle is installed two feet deep into the ground. A support is also added to hold the powerful pump, along with a battery-powered alarm that automatically sounds when the water level exceeds the normal starting level of the pump. Finally, a hermetic cover with a floor drain is put in place. The sump pump system then evacuates the water outside the house through a successfully installed independent SafeGard discharge line.
With this complete solution, Mr. Rajan will be able to enjoy a dry and comfortable basement.
