Basement Water Infiltration Solution in La Prairie, QC
The problem:
Our client, Mr. James Gauthier, noticed signs of water infiltration and a musty odor in his basement. He wants to be able to use this space without these inconveniences and enjoy optimal comfort.
The solution:
Our Sous-Sol Confort specialists performed a free evaluation and recommend the installation of a FlowDrain system of drains and a SumpPlus sump pump system to evacuate the infiltrated water and drain it outside the house, thus achieving a dry and comfortable basement.
To begin the installation of the drainage system, a trench is dug around the internal perimeter of the basement at the joint between the wall and the floor to install the FlowDrain drains on a gravel bed. Then, the floor is covered with concrete.
Once the drains are installed, which collect infiltrated water and direct it towards the SumpPlus sump pump system, a perforated receptacle is installed two feet deep in the ground, along with a support to lift the powerful pump, a battery-operated alarm that automatically sounds when the water exceeds the level at which the pump should normally start, and finally, a hermetic cover with a floor drain.
The sump pump system then evacuates the water outside the house through a successful installation of the SafeGuard discharge line.

The solution:
Our team of experts at Sous-Sol Confort conducted a free evaluation and recommends the installation of a FlowDrain drainage system along with a SumPlus sump pump system to eliminate infiltrated water and redirect it away from the house, ensuring a dry and comfortable basement.
The installation process begins by creating a trench along the interior perimeter of the basement at the junction between the wall and the floor. FlowDrain drains are then installed on a gravel bed within this trench. Once the drains are in place, the space is covered with concrete. Simultaneously, a perforated sump pit is embedded two feet deep into the ground. A powerful pump is mounted on a stand near the pit. Additionally, a battery-powered alarm is installed to automatically signal when the water level exceeds the threshold at which the pump should start. Finally, a watertight cover with a floor drain is secured.
The sump pump system then pumps the water out of the house through an independent SafeGard discharge line, ensuring efficient and safe removal of the infiltrated water.
