The problem:
Mr. Sébastien is facing several issues in his crawl space: excessive moisture, poor insulation, and sagging floors. The client is looking for a solution to address the humidity problem, achieve energy savings, and provide long-term floor support.
The solution:
After a free inspection, our specialists recommend installing a SuperJack support system to stabilize and level the floor joists and main beams. Additionally, we propose the installation of a crawl space encapsulation system using the Pro-20 mil Vapor Barrier membrane. This is a polyethylene membrane with a thick 20mm plastic coating that helps drain infiltrated water and insulate the crawl space from the house. Moreover, the infiltrated water is discharged from the house through a SumPlus sump pump system.
The crawl space foundation walls are covered with thermal insulation panels to thermally insulate the walls around the rim joists and eliminate heat loss. Finally, an Aprilaire dehumidifier is installed to filter water particles and drain them to the SumPlus sump pump system, ensuring dry and comfortable air.
